DLC ADDITIONS TO MAIN GAME

8 Sub missions, hover board, vehicles, and weapons

MY ROLE:

Environment Artist

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Set dress all new locations

DESCRIPTION:

My job was to fill all new DLC content locations with props that would complement the new game play feature (hover board)

EXPERIENCE:

I was moved onto the Danger Rising DLC team very late into production. All the artists on the project were tied up in assets so it was my job to set dress. As soon as I got there I took it upon myself to organize and create a system to keep track of the assets available to me and the rest of the team (as I did in Los Demonios). This made it easier for me to know what I was working with along with giving the leads, lighting team, and artists a way to make sure the quality of each asset was up to standards. After that I just had to take the assets I had to set dressing eight subs, 16 floating platform variants, and one destroyer. It was a lot to be thrown into, especially when there were still so many changes happening, but we made it through and made something fun.

MODULAR INTERIORS

Because I was the only one planned to be set dressing for this DLC, it was important that everything that could be modular, was.

All the rooms were their own prefab and the hangar doors were used as stitch points to connect them.

CLEAR THE AREA

The main feature that was added to this DLC was the hover board. Because of this, there needed to be a large amount of space for the player to glide through, to prevent the player from getting stuck.

FLOATING PLATFORMS

Surrounding all the subs were floating platforms that were connected by magnetic rails for the hover board to grind on.

A majority of the platforms had their own set objective that needed to be compatible with all subs, so designers could place them where they needed.

To make each sub feel more unique, different combinations of rooms were used. In total, there were 8 subs, 1 ship, 15 floating platforms, in addition to variations for each.
